We hope you are all as excited about the Harlequins U7 and U8 TAG Festival on 16th February as we are. Taking place here at Staines RFC. Please see details below:
The festivals matches will start at 10:30am and last games will finish at 12:30pm.
On arrival can all teams please register at the registration tent outlined in the map attached.
In order to run this tournament we rely on volunteer referees. Can all clubs please reply to the email they received, stating the name of their one volunteer referee per team entered. We will do our best to make sure all volunteers will referee on the pitch where their team is based and will not referee during their own teams match.
There will be a short referees briefing at 10:15 at the registration tents:
Format and Schedule
There will be groups of three or four for both age groups where a round robin format will be in place. Games will be either 8 minutes per half with a 1 minute half time or a 6 minute game with a 2 minute half time (see schedule) which will total almost 48 minutes of play which is in accordance with RFU age grade regulations. There will also be no winner or scoring, which is also inline with RFU age grade regulations. Please find the groups attached.
U7 will be 4-a-side. Click here for U7 rules of play
U8 will be 6-a-side. Click here for U8 rules of play
Squad sizes are down to the team manager as it will be down to them to manage playing time.
Please bring along tags and belts.
Cars (FESTIVAL) – Where possible we HIGHLY recommend car sharing. We have a number of parking spaces at Staines RFC and also at Nakshatra Hall which is just opposite Staines RFC. There will be staff there directing traffic and all parking at these two locations is free. Should all spaces fill, there is additional parking along the roads in Lower Feltham.
Coaches – All coaches need to drop off along Snakey Lane. Please ask coach drivers to drop you off a couple of hundred yards before Staines RFC to ease traffic. Please then advise coaches to park in the Rose Bine car park which is next to The Stoop along the A316 to park. Please note you need to reply to this email stating how many coaches you wish to park in the Rose Bine for us to tell the parking attendants. Coaches can then return to Staines RFC at the end of the festival to pick up teams to return to Rose Bine to park for the match at The Stoop. Coach parking will be free.
