It’s been a remarkable turnaround. At the end of the 2023–24 season, we weren’t sure if we could even enter the league again after conceding more games than we played. We’d lost players, slipped down leagues, and needed a full reset.

That’s when three coaches – all with strong ties to Staines RFC – stepped in. Their only goal? Make sure we could field a side every week. What followed was beyond anyone’s expectations:
• The men’s 1st XV went unbeaten in Counties 5 Surrey and secured promotion back to Counties 4 Surrey – 18 months ahead of schedule.
• Player numbers grew steadily, with new recruits bringing friends along and helping to rebuild our squad and our spirit.

Fast forward to now:
• Our senior squad has grown to almost 80 players.
• We’ve launched the Cobs back into league action.
• We’ve hit another major target: fielding a second competitive side alongside the first team.

This weekend, we had 20 players lining up at home for the 1st XV and another 20 travelling for the Cobs’ opening fixture. That depth and commitment shows just how far we’ve come.

None of this would have been possible without the hard work of our coaches, volunteers, and players who bought into the reset and pulled together. It’s a testament to what can happen when a club rebuilds around its people and its community.

Looking ahead, 2026–27 will be our centenary year at The Reeves – a season that promises to be something very special. But before that, let’s take a moment to appreciate how far we’ve already come and continue to support every age group and every side, men’s, women’s and youth.
